Official Wine Routes of Cyprus

The Cyprus Tourism Organisation has designated seven “official” wine routes—scenic driving itineraries linking wineries, vineyards, and cultural landmarks: Commandaria Route, Pafos Wine Villages, and Krasochoria of Lemesos. These routes are signposted, include recommended tasting stops, and focus on specific wine styles or regions.

2. Krasochoria Lemesou Route – The “Wine Villages of Limassol” route passes through high-altitude vineyards producing rich reds and aromatic whites, with many boutique wineries and traditional tavernas.

3. Pafos Wine Villages Route – Rolling countryside dotted with stone-built villages, producing elegant reds, crisp rosés, and distinctive whites—often from the indigenous Maratheftiko grape.

4. Laona-Akamas Route – Coastal and hillside vineyards west of Pafos, known for fresh, mineral-driven whites from Xynisteri and stunning sea-meets-mountain views.

5. Vouni Panagias–Ambelitis Route – High-altitude vineyards north of Pafos offering bold reds, vibrant whites, and traditional winemaking techniques in small family wineries.

6. Diarizos Valley Route – A quieter, off-the-beaten-path route in the Troodos foothills, with a handful of small wineries surrounded by orchards and river valleys.

7. Larnaka–Lefkosia Route – Gentle hills and rural plains producing both local and international varieties, often paired with regional cheeses and meze.

With over 50 wineries, from large producers to tiny mountain estates, each route offers tastings, stories, and the warmth of Cypriot hospitality—best enjoyed alongside the island’s cuisine.
